USA Junior Men’s National Team beat DeKalb Hustle Hogs 5-2 in seven innings on Wednesday behind Steven Nessler, who went 2-3.
Ty McKinney’s 11 strikeouts helped USA Junior Men’s National Team to the victory. McKinney allowed two earned runs on three hits and no walks over five innings.
Tobin was the game’s losing pitcher. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
DeKalb Hustle Hogs jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. DeKalb Hustle Hogs got things going when Maly singled. A groundout by Cardella then moved Maly from first to second.
The lead stayed with USA Junior Men’s National Team after the fourth, when it scored four runs on a two-run double by Brady Parker and a sacrifice fly by Jonathan Broadbear.
One run in the top of the fifth helped DeKalb Hustle Hogs close its deficit to 5-2. A solo home run by B Crouch gave DeKalb Hustle Hogs life. Finally, McKinney induced an inning-ending strike out from Marrero.
