J & B Painting Advances to Semi-Final vs. NY Gremlins

J & B Painting’s Cameron Schiller walloped two home runs to power J&B Painting to a 6-1 win over the Toronto Batmen, to oust them from the tournament, and advance to a Saturday afternoon semi-final game at 1:30pm EDT.

Devon McCullough went the distance to pick up the win for J&B, tossing a 4 hitter, and striking out 12, while Caleb Keeshig took the loss, surrendering 3 of the 6 runs in his 5 innings pitched, scattering 4 hits while striking out 7.  Both pitchers finished the game with sub 1.00 ERA’s in the tournament.  The lone run off of McCullough came on a pinch hit home run by Craig Lyons to lead off the bottom of the 7th inning.

The semi-final will be a rematch of an earlier winner’s bracket semi-final between J&B and the NY Gremlins, which the Gremlins won, 3-2.

The Toronto Batmen finished fourth in the 2017 ISC World Tournament, with both losses coming at the hands of J&B, which beat them on Wednesday, 1-0 in 9 innings.

The winner of the semi-final between J&B and the Gremlins will face the tournament’s lone unbeaten team, Hill United in the Championship game at 6:30pm EDT, for the 2017 ISC crown.
