A look back at the USA Jr. Men’s Softball Team at the 2018 WBSC Junior Men’s Softball World Championship at Prince Albert, Sasketchewan played July 7-15, 2018:

The squad finished fourth in its pool of 6 teams and earned a spot in the championship round medal round playoff, with a 2-3 record in the round robin portion, and 0-1 in the Championship playoff round, falling to Argentina, 9-2.

Junior Men’s National Team Takes A Tough Blow From Canada

Junior Men’s National Team had trouble keeping up with Canada in a 10-3 loss on Saturday.

Canada fired up the offense in the first inning. Troy Kosmynka drove in one when he singled.

Canada pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second Brady Hogghomered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs.

Canada scored six runs in the sixth inning. Canada’s big inning was driven by doubles by Dallas Kipfer and Rowan Sears, a single by Isaac Lefebvre, and by Jorrdan Pomeroy.

Owen Torrie earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for Canada. He surrendered three runs on three hits over five and a third innings, striking out 12. Riley Manion threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Nathan Landry took the loss for Junior Men’s National Team. He lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing nine hits and ten runs while striking out two.

Junior Men’s National Team launched one home run on the day. Tony Wark went for the long ball in the second inning.

Wark, Justin Martinez, and Craig Lewis all had one hit to lead Junior Men’s National Team.Junior Men’s National Team didn’t commit a single error in the field. Wark had the most chances in the field with five.

Canada had nine hits in the game. Brendan Hagerman, Kipfer, and Lefebvre each managed multiple hits for Canada. Canada was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Hagerman had the most chances in the field with 13.

Junior Men’s National Team Loses Lead Early In Defeat

Junior Men’s National Team watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 11-1 loss to New Zealand on Sunday. New Zealand scored on a home run by Reilly Makea, a triple by Andre Hart, an error during Seth Gibson‘s at bat, and a groundout by Kaleb Rona in the first inning.

The Junior Men’s National Team struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing New Zealand, giving up 11 runs.

New Zealand got things started in the first inning. Makea drove in two when he homered.

Makea got the win for New Zealand. He surrendered one run on two hits over four innings, striking out seven. Joshua Kelly threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Nathan Landry took the loss for Junior Men’s National Team. He lasted one-third of an inning, allowing four hits and four runs while walking one.

Junior Men’s National Team socked one home run on the day. Jeff Lewis had a long ball in the third inning.

Lewis and Craig Lewis each collected one hit to lead Junior Men’s National Team.

Harrison Valk led New Zealand with two hits in three at bats. New Zealand was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Valk made the most plays with ten.

Junior Men’s National Team easily did away with Hong Kong 11-1 on Monday

Junior Men’s National Team fired up the offense in the first inning. Jeff Lewis homered on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Junior Men’s National Team notched three runs in the fourth inning. Junior Men’s National Teamscored its runs on an RBI home run by Jason Obregon Jr..

Craig Lewis was the winning pitcher for Junior Men’s National Team. He lasted five innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out six.

Mervyn Yu took the loss for Hong Kong. He surrendered nine runs on seven hits over three and a third innings, striking out three.

Junior Men’s National Team smacked two home runs on the day. Lewis went yard in the first inning. Jason Obregon Jr. had a long ball in the fourth inning.

Nathan Landry of Junior Men’s National Team Shuts Out Guatemala

Nathan Landry didn’t allow a single run as Junior Men’s National Team defeated Guatemala 3-0 on Tuesday. Landry allowed just one hit.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Landry struck out 14, while Juan Morales sat down five.

Junior Men’s National Team got things moving in the first inning, when Jason Obregon Jr. drew a walk, scoring one run.

One bright spot for Guatemala was a single by Henry Castillo Recinos in the sixth inning.

Landry earned the win for Junior Men’s National Team. He lasted seven innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out 14.

Morales took the loss for Guatemala. He allowed four hits and three runs over six innings, striking out five.

Dalton Gray led Junior Men’s National Team with two hits in three at bats. Junior Men’s National Team didn’t commit a single error in the field. Obregon Jr. had 15 chances in the field, the most on the team.

Castillo Recinos went 1-for-1 at the plate to lead Guatemala in hits.

Junior Men’s National Team Comeback Efforts Fall Short against Czech Republic

Junior Men’s National Team Loses Lead Early In Defeat

Junior Men’s National Team watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 6-5 loss to Czech Republic on Thursday. Czech Republic scored on a error in the first inning, a single by Vit Koci in the second inning, a double by Lukas Hospodka in the second inning, and a double by Vojtech Buchner in the second inning.

Junior Men’s National Team lost despite out-hitting Czech Republic nine to five.

Czech Republic pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second Kocisingled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run, Hospodka doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, and Buchner doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.

Lukas Kubat earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for Czech Republic. He lasted four innings, allowing six hits and five runs while striking out six. Buchner threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Buchner recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Czech Republic.

Nathan Landry took the loss for Junior Men’s National Team. He went two innings, allowing six runs on four hits, striking out two and walking one.

Junior Men’s National Team racked up nine hits. Dalton Gray, Jeff Lewis, and Tony Wark all collected multiple hits for Junior Men’s National Team. Wark, Lewis, and Gray each collected two hits to lead Junior Men’s National Team.

Argentina Runs Away With Early Lead In Victory

Junior Men’s National Team watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 9-2 loss to Argentina on Friday. Argentina took the lead on a single in the first inning.

The Junior Men’s National Team struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Argentina, giving up nine runs.

Argentina got things started in the first inning. Argentina scored one run when Lautaro Tomas Msingled.

Argentina scored five runs in the second inning. Argentina batters contributing to the big inning included Ignacio S, Alejo Martin M, and Lautaro Tomas, all driving in runs in the inning.

Marcelo M was the winning pitcher for Argentina. He surrendered zero runs on two hits over two and a third innings, striking out six and walking zero.

Nathan Landry took the loss for Junior Men’s National Team. He allowed five hits and six runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one.

Juan Jose P started the game for Argentina. He lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and two runs while striking out eight

Justin Martinez, Daniel Stangel, and Jason Obregon Jr. each collected one hit to lead Junior Men’s National Team.

Argentina racked up eight hits in the game. Alejo Martin, Lautaro Tomas, and Gian Marcos S all managed multiple hits for Argentina. Argentina was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Yamil L had the most chances in the field with 15.
