The USA battled fiercely against Canada in a Placement Round game, tied 6-6 into the 7th inning, but in the end, Canada rallied for two runs in the bottom of the inning to defeat the Red White and Blue. The winning runs scored on a one-out two run home run by Jackson Pegelo. The Americans overcame a 5-2 Canada lead in the 4th, scoring 4 runs to take a 6-5 lead.
With the win, Canada moved to 3-0 in the Placement Round, while the USA fell to 1-2. The USA will take on Singapore in their next game, who scored the tournament’s biggest upset, a win over #2 ranked Argentina, quite a feat for Singapore, which entered the event as the #17 ranked team.
Canada, meanwhile, will take on the other 3-0 team in the Placement Round, Mexico, which missed advancing the the Super Round by one run, falling 4-3 to Guatemala on the final day of pool play.

USA Softball U-18 Men’s National Team fired up the offense in the first inning. Chase Thomson drove in one when he singled. Canada knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the second inning. An error scored one run for Canada. USA Softball U-18 Men’s National Team put up four runs in the fourth inning. USA Softball U-18 Men’s National Team batters contributing to the big inning included Parker Hopkins, Klay Kilpatrick, and Eli Rivas, who each had RBIs in the inning. Canada scored three runs in the third inning. Canada scored its runs on a home run by Owen Rahn. Reese Yantzi took the win for Canada. He went one and one-third innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out two and walking zero. Connor Brooks threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen. Josh Eurich took the loss for USA Softball U-18 Men’s National Team. He surrendered three runs on three hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking zero. Thomson started the game for USA Softball U-18 Men’s National Team. He lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and five runs while striking out one Brody Fraser started the game for Canada. He allowed five hits and five runs over three innings, striking out five Canada hit two home runs on the day. Pegelo went for the long ball in the seventh inning. Rahn had a four bagger in the third inning. William Ponce went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead USA Softball U-18 Men’s National Team in hits. Canada was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error.
