Head to Winner’s Bracket Final Four
The Kegel Black Knights edged the Circle Tap Dukes in 8 innings, to punch its ticket to the Winner’s Bracket Final Four. Robbie Schweyer picked up the win in relief of Roman Godoy, pitching 3 shutout innings while striking out 5. The win was Schweyer’s 30th ISC World Tournament win. Jorge Segura was the tough luck loser, going the distance, tossing a 4 hitter, while striking out 7.
Kegel jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first, while Circle Tap notched single runs in the 3rd, 4th and 5th. Kegel tied the game with a run in the 5th.
With the score tied 3-3 at the end of 7, the teams headed to extra innings.
Kegel reliever Robbie Schweyer struck out the side in the top of the 8th.
The Black Knights won the game in the bottom of the 8th, getting a runner to third, then scoring the game winner on a strike-out/passed ball.
Kegel will face the winner of today’s contest between the Kitchener Hallman Twins and J&B.
