San Antonio Texas Glowworm, unranked in the pre-tournament polls, is making a run at the 2022 ISC World Tournament, winning their third game in a row in as many days, for four wins overall, after dropping their second game Sunday to the #7 ranked AWP Lumberjacks, 3-2 in a closely fought pitcher’s duel. San Antonio’s Eder Pineda took the loss for San Antonio Glowworm. The hurler allowed four hits and three runs over six innings, striking out eight.
Glowworm won their opener on Saturday against Walcott Lampliter, 7-0, before falling to the Lumberjacks in their second game.
The Glowworm started the long road back on Monday, with a win over Marchio Sausage. On Tuesday, they notched an upset win, over the #11 ranked Kegel Black Knights. And on Wednesday, the Glowworm took down #15 ranked LC Ostrander, scoring a single run in the 7th inning to do so.
Glowworm will play their sixth game in 6 days tomorrow, Thursday morning, August 18, when they will face their highest ranked opponent yet, #8 Circle Tap. (Circle Tap lost a close 3-1 game to the #1 ranked team in the tournament, the Kitchener Hallman Twins.
Glowworm’s offense is led by David Galeno, Gustavo Prishker, and Issac Medina, all of whom have 6 hits to date. Medina is the leading RBI man with 6, while Galeno and Prishker have 5 each. Galeno has a cycle of sorts, with 2 home runs, a triple, a double and 3 singles.
