The 2024-2025 WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup follows a (new) two-stage format:
Group Stage (2024)
- The Group Stage will feature 18 teams divided into 3 groups of 6 teams each.
- The groups will be played in different locations: Group A in Hermosillo, Mexico (June 12-16), Group B in Prince Albert, Canada (July 10-14), and Group C in Oklahoma City, USA (September 17-21).
- The top 2 teams from each group (6 teams total) will advance to the Finals.
Finals (2025)
- The Finals will be held in Prince Albert, Canada from July 8-13, 2025.
- In addition to the 6 teams that advanced from the Group Stage, 2 wildcard teams will also participate, making it an 8-team tournament.
- The Finals will determine the overall champion of the 2024-2025 WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup.
Group A (Hermosillo, Mexico, June 12-16, 2024)
- Australia (defending champions)
- Czech Republic
- Philippines
- Mexico (host)
- 2 teams from the Americas Qualifier
Group B (Prince Albert, Canada, July 10-14, 2024)
- Canada (host)
- New Zealand
- Singapore
- 1 team from the Americas Qualifier
- 1 team from the African Qualifier
- 1 special invitee (wild card)
Group C (Oklahoma City, USA, September 17-21, 2024)
The 10 teams that had already qualified based on their performance at the previous World Cup or through special invitations were pre-seeded into the groups. The remaining teams qualified through the African Qualifier (providing 2 teams) and the Americas Qualifier (providing 5 teams).However, when Botswana declined their African Qualifier spot, Israel was awarded a wild card entry into Group B.
