Malarczuk’s Power Display Leads NY Gremlins to Dominant Win Over Bear Creek Express

In a Thursday evening Winner’s Bracket Semi-final, the New York Gremlins showcased their offensive firepower, securing a commanding 15-0 victory over the Bear Creek Express. The game, which ended after just four innings due to the run rule, was highlighted by Ladislao Malarczuk’s exceptional performance at the plate.

Malarczuk’s Multi-Homer Game

Ladislao Malarczuk (#24) was the star of the show, blasting two home runs and driving in four runs to lead the Gremlins’ offensive onslaught. Malarczuk’s first homer came in the third inning, a solo shot to center field. He followed up with a three-run blast to right field in the fourth, cementing his pivotal role in the Gremlins’ victory.

Inning-by-Inning Breakdown

1st Inning: The Gremlins struck early when Lucio Retamar (#21) singled to drive in the game’s first run.

3rd Inning: NY Gremlins exploded for seven runs on seven hits. Key moments included:

  • Ben Enoka (#89) hit a three-run homer to center field
  • Lucio Retamar smashed a two-run homer to right field
  • Ladislao Malarczuk’s solo home run to center field
  • Erick Ochoa (#8) singled to drive in another run

4th Inning: The Gremlins continued their barrage with another seven runs on eight hits:

  • Cole Evans (#34) led off with a solo homer to center field
  • Ladislao Malarczuk’s second homer, a three-run shot to right field
  • Nick Mullins (#3) doubled to drive in a run
  • Erick Ochoa capped off the scoring with a two-run homer to right field

Pitching Dominance

Jack Besgrove (#57) started for NY Gremlins and was nearly untouchable:

  • 3.0 innings pitched, 2 hits, 0 runs, 6 strikeouts, 0 walks

Kuba Osi?ka (#22) closed out the game with a scoreless inning:

  • 1.0 inning pitched, 2 hits, 0 runs, 2 strikeouts, 0 walks

For Bear Creek Express, Sean Cleary (#11) struggled against the Gremlins’ potent lineup:

  • 3.0 innings pitched, 9 hits, 8 runs, 5 strikeouts, 4 walks

Offensive Standouts

The NY Gremlins’ offense was firing on all cylinders:

  • Erick Ochoa and Lucio Retamar: 3 hits each
  • Mathieu Roy (#16), Nick Mullins, and Ben Enoka: Multiple hits
  • Cole Evans: Drew 2 walks, showing patience at the plate
  • Team total: 17 hits and 5 walks

Bear Creek Express had four hits, one each from Jordan Pomeroy, Brandon Horn, David Galeno, and Thomas Enoka.

Defensive Highlights

Both teams played error-free baseball. The Bear Creek Express turned one double play, with Ryan Boland handling the most chances (five) in the field.

Looking Ahead

The Gremlins will return to play Friday night at 6PM in the Winner’s Bracket Final against the NorthEast Drillers at 6pm in a game that will be streamed live on the ISC Network. The Gremlins and Drillers are the only remaining unbeaten teams in the tournament, both with perfect 4-0 records.

Bear Creek Express falls to the Elimination bracket and will take on JB, which eliminated Circle Tap last night, in a close 3-2 win. The game will be live streamed on the ISC Network.
