2017 Pan Ams – Bronze Medal for USA as they fall to Venezuela, 5-4

A valiant effort by Team USA fell just short in the Bronze Medal game as they fell to Venezuela, 5-4.  Trailing 4-2, they tied the game 4-4 on a 2 out single by Cameron Schiller.  Venezuela came right back to score the winning run in the bottom of the 6th. Venezuela eliminates Mexico, to face the USA in Bronze Medal Game

Venezuela defeated Mexico 4-2 on Sunday morning, ending Mexico's hopes of their first Pan American medal.  Venezuela's Erick Urbaneja picked up the win, with Mexican reliever Judiel Olais taking the loss. in a closely contested game. Ten days after the tournament began, Medal Round Sunday has arrived, with just four teams battling for the three medals available. The national teams from the USA and Argentina endured a seven hour delay on Saturday, only to have play halted midway through the fourth inning.  After another downpour.  Grounds crews worked tirelessly most of Saturday afternoon to get the fields ready for the "double life" final, but the rains came again and prevented the completion of the game.
