My son, and Brian’s teammate, Tom Dower reports:
Brian Macler was in a bad ATV accident last night and is in a coma and had brain surgery last night. Prognoses wasn’t good but he made it through the night. Not sure on his condition today. No news is probably good news.
Later this morning:
CT scan came back good but the Dr said the next 5 days are the most important.
FYI: Brian is one of the top hitters in the country and led Santa Rosa Fastpitch to a second place finish in rthe ASA Class C Nationals in Prescott AZ, the World title in the NAFA A World Series in Topeka KS, and a second place finish in the NAFA A-Majors this past season in Des Moines, IA. He was an All-American or All-World player in all three championships.

I spoke with Gary Dower last night. Update on Brian is that they surgically relieved pressure on the brain. Brian is out of the coma. He has been transferred to the East Bay to a rehabilitation center . He is up and walking short distances at a time. He will probably be looking at quite a few weeks of rehab at this point but I’m sure that the family will be looking forward to a much happier Holiday now. “Never underestimate the heart of a Champion”.
