DC Galway Hitmen edge NS East Hants Mastodons for 2015 Sr. Canadian title

The DC Hitmen rallied for two runs in the bottom of the 6th inning for a 4-3 come-from-behind win over the NS East Hants Mastodons in the championship game of the Sr. Canadians at Bellechasse, Quebec.  Shane Boland had a home run and 2 RBI for the Hitmen, while Steve Mullaley had two hits including a triple.  Manuel and Harvey homered for NS in the losing effort.

Both starting pitchers went the distance.  DC’s Sean Cleary picked up the win, scattering 8 hits while striking out 16 while Justin Schofield scattered 7 hits while striking out 7.

Scoring Recap:

NS took at 1-0 lead in the 2nd on a home run by Aaron William Harvey. The lead held until the bottom of the 5th when DC scored two, taking a 2-1 lead on two run shot by Shane Boland.

NS came right back with two of their own in the top of the 6th inning, scoring one on a solo home run by Craig Curtis Manuel, and another unearned run.

DC took the lead back in the bottom of the 6th with two runs. Steve Mullaley scored the first of the inning on a sac fly by Jason Hill, while Colin Walsh singled home the eventual winning run, bringing home Jeremy Orielly.
