California’s two ISC II teams, the California Lumberkings and A-1/Taylor Farms will square off at 4:30pm on Saturday, in the Rose Cup tournament at Portland, Oregon. The head-to-head matchup puts bragging rights, ISC II rankings, and a spot in the Rose Cup playoffs on the line.

The 2007 Portland DeMarini Rose Cup schedule has been “revised” and is now a 14 team tournament. Due to a couple of teams unable to participate and our unsuccessful attempt to complete the field (pitching, visa, travel, etc. problems), we had no other choice and apologize for any inconveniences. Travel/prize monies remain the same.

Gamereports on Venezuela – Decos EHS and Decos EHS – Czech Republic
Decos EHS loses close game to Venezuela 3-1
The current PanAm Champion Venezuela came out strong defensively when Jhon Garcia struck out the side in the first two innings. He was hitting his spots very well and the Decos EHS offense was shut down. Venezuela scored three runs on a couple of hits of young Kiwi Jared Welsh. Welsh had a more then decent performance against a very good batting line up. Welsh took 7k’s and was able to keep Decos EHS in the game. Pim Winkel hit a line drive to right field in the fourth. First baseman Rody hit a deep high fly ball to left field in the sixth which was misplayed by the left fielder due to the sun. This allowed Rody Stam to score the only Decos EHS run.
Although we lost our second game in a row, we played well and are able to keep up with the big teams.

Bramwell carries Circle Tap to tourney title

Matt Bramwell was the winning pitcher in semifinal and championship games Sunday as Circle Tap of Denmark won the title of the Townline Shootout men’s fastpitch softball tournament at Howard Memorial Park.
Bramwell gave up five hits and struck out 10 in Circle Tap’s 4-2 victory over The Farm of Madison in the championship game.
In the semifinals, Bramwell threw a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts as Circle Tap beat Townline of Green Bay 8-1.
Against The Farm, Kyle Van Abel hit two solo home runs, and Frankie Perez and Steve Schucker also hit solo homers for Circle Tap (17-7).
Against Townline, Tom Crouch and Van Abel had two-run singles, and Schucker had three hits. James Darby took the loss.
