The 2006 edition of the World Fastball Invitational will be June 29 thru July 2, 2006, in Monkton Ont. Once again we will play host to the “best” players and teams on the planet who will be competing for the biggest prize purse in the world. A few teams confirmed are: Defending World Champions & 2-time winner of the W.F.I., County Materials, World runner-up – The Farm Tavern, 2005 ISC 3rd place finishers – Kitchener Hallman Twins, and powerhouse entries Owen Sound/Orillia?? (name TBA), and Patsy’s NY.

Amigos Tournament Rescheduled for Jan 21-22 After Rainout

The Amigos Tournament at Whittier Narrows, CA has been Re-Scheduled for Saturday 1/21 and Sunday 1/22/06 due to a rainout Saturday morning.

The first 2 Games were completed with the Black Sox and Primos winning. The tournament will resume with the current schedule beginning at 10:00 am on Saturday. Read about the Black Sox’ first win of 2006 at Fred Hanker’s Long Beach Black Sox website.

Second Annual Eddy Ybarra Sr. Memorial Tournament Set for Aug. 19-20, 2006 in Fresno

AAU 2005 Revisited

Today’s Morning Brief revisits the 2005 AAU International Tournament, from a story featured in Softball Magazine:

[ORLANDO, FL – 1/23/05]- The “Davids” in the world of men’s fastpitch met the “Goliaths” at the Sixth Annual AAU Men’s International Fastball tournament at the Disney Complex in Orlando, Florida, January 20-23, 2005 with sometimes surprising results. At the end of the day, it was a pair of Goliaths, The Bar/Circle Tap of Denmark Wisconsin, USA and Los Socios of Venezuela squaring off for the title. However, the Goliaths of the tournament met some stiff competition from some upstart “Davids” of the tournament along the way.

The 2006 AAU International Tournament is slated for January 19, 2006 at the Disney complex in Orlando, Florida. Fastpitchwest will once again provide first hand coverage of the tournament.

2006 AAU Men’s International Fastpitch Tournament
January 19-22, 2006 – Disney’s Wide World of Sports complex

28 teams in 7, 4-team pools. Round Robin play on Thursday and Friday. All teams will then be ranked 1-28. Top 24 go into a single elimination for championship and lowest 4 go into a 4-team single elimination for consolation championship.

There will be a free, male only ISC Pitching Clinic ongoing during the tournament. Instructor is Bill Hillhouse. It is a walk-up clinic for prospective pitchers or current pitchers. Each pitcher or prospect must provide his own catcher. Details, contact Bill BillHillhouse@hotmail.com
